Washington—Members of an ADA-supported business coalition “strongly urge” the Senate to support House-passed legislation and repeal a 3 percent withholding tax scheduled to take effect Jan. 1, 2013. The Senate was expected to take up repeal legislation early in November.

Washington—A broad-based coalition of dental and other health care advocates applauded Department of Health and Human Services “recognition” of oral health as a leading indicator of the overall health of the U.S. population and access to care as a chief objective for Healthy People 2020.

Washington—The ADA and American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry urged the Health Resources and Services Administration to reject a federal advisory panel’s dental workforce recommendations in a draft health personnel report to Congress.

Lansing, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder, in a special health care message Sept. 14, praised the profession’s oral health initiatives as important to the health of Michigan residents and urged state and federal funding hikes to expand and sustain them. 

Washington—The American Dental Association joined 76 general industry and trade organizations in urging Congress to extend bonus depreciation and small business expensing tax provisions.
